As a teacher, writer, editor and educator with several decades of experience – most recently with Chinese university students and young professionals – I know I can help you succeed in your aspirations to study in a prestigious American university. I have a bachelor’s degree in English from York University, and a Masters of Public Administration from New York University. I also studied at Columbia University’s Teachers College, and Bank Street College of Education. As a writer and editor for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in New York, I developed very useful experience in effective written communication to a diverse international audience.

My tutorial work with advanced Chinese students has sharpened my awareness that even the most gifted young Chinese professionals can benefit from help to make their English language communication more effective. It gives me great pleasure to make a star shine brighter! I look forward to helping you realize your dreams of success.

I love the English language. I’ve spent many years teaching it and learning the extraordinary and varied ways it can communicate. I’ve taught in Middle School and High School in California and New York City. When we write a book report, a history paper, a poem, a business letter, or if we’re analyzing a novel, or writing an essay or short story, we are doing it in English. I have written presentations and curriculum for Oprah Winfrey, and written technical documentation for Adobe, Oracle, and others. My approach is laser-focused, quickly leading to results that are transferable and lasting. I strive to put the Arts into English Language Arts, no matter what the task.  here.
